Pedagogical Efficacy & Consent
Clio's generative core is constantly verified by active learning scientists. Participate in our institutional study to measure reading speed gains and diagnostic performance metrics.
Research Protocol & Ethics
Clio, in coordination with the LearnAdapt Research Foundation, runs periodic empirical evaluations of generative textbooks, slides, and pacing worksheets inside school systems globally. Our primary objective is to study how AI-generated custom scaffolding helps bridge conceptual gaps for primary, secondary, and tertiary students.
1. What Data Do We Evaluate?
To measure the efficacy of Clio, we analyze strictly aggregated, non-personally identifiable telemetry related to how students interact with the compiled files:
- Conceptual Reading Speed: Time elapsed per textbook section or slideshow node.
- Diagnostic Accuracy: Success rates on generated conceptual checkpoints and formative questions.
- Adaptation Rate: The frequency of user-generated revisions/regenerations of specific curriculum modules (e.g. asking the "Hands" layer to simplify a LaTeX derivative explanation).
2. Complete Anonymization Guarantee
We take student and educator privacy with extreme seriousness. In compliance with **FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)** and **COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)** in the United States, as well as the **Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)** and **GDPR** in the European Union:
- Student names, email addresses, and school IDs are never transmitted to or saved by the Clio study repository.
- All user-generated text inputs are parsed via our local regex scrubbing filter to block out accidental inputs of personal identifying details before model execution.
- All computational compiles execute inside ephemeral, single-use Docker sandboxes, ensuring zero residual memory of individual user histories.
3. Voluntary Participation & Right to Withdraw
Participating in the LearnAdapt study is 100% voluntary. Your choice to participate or opt out will not affect your school's CreditGate access quotas or account balances in any way. Educators and school administrators retain the absolute right to terminate institutional telemetry collection at any point via their administration dashboard.
